HALF TERM FILMMAKING
I organised a series of half term workshops in conjunction with Waltham Forest council, Leyton Family Hub, and Senior Youth Services Officer Jane Bruseke. This was a great chance to design and implement my own course, and meet young people from my area with a special interest in filmmaking. We studied translating a script to screen - breaking down the script, annotating with our shot choices, camera operation, sound operation and directing. I brought in two amazing cinematographer practitioners - Gergana Popova and Alvin Burrell, who also generously donated his professional grade kit.
They watched a scene from the film ‘It’s Kind of a Funny Story’, and recreated it, using myself and a member of the local acting community as the actors.
